The time has come to decide on the products that we will use for the paints and coatings.

There is one standout company that can supply all of what we need. That is Orica Australia. You probably know them better by their brand names, Dulux and British Paints.  They also have a division called Acratex which is of particular interest to us.

We need to find a company that can supply the texture coating for the outside of the building. This needs to be compatible with the Hebel Power Panel. We also need a heap of decking oil for all the deck area, and the paint for the interior.

Exterior

For the exterior Acratex has been highly recommended as the best finish to apply to Hebel Power Panel. This is a three step process that will lead to a rendering job that will last a lifetime. Download the brochure below to find out more.

Interior

For the interior I would like to use the Dulux River Rock product for the main walls.

Dulux River Rock

Dulux River Rock is a textured matt interior water based paint finish inspired by weathered rocks from nature’s river beds. Use Dulux River Rock with Dulux Wash & Wear equivalent colours for a seamless and perfectly blended textured scheme.

And the Dulux Suede product for contrasting feature walls.

Dulux Suede

Subtle undertones of beige cream, coffee and green combine beautifully with a collection of understated whites to form a textural experience that is Dulux Suede. Dulux Suede is a flat interior water based paint which is applied direct from the can to achieve a stylish finish which echoes the look of suede. Easy to apply, Dulux Suede can also be used for ragging and sponging.

Decking

Dulux have a division called Intergrain that houses all of the timber finish products. There are two products that we are interested in here. Ultradeck and Ultragrip.

Ultradeck
A high performance, water based oil for decking, outdoor furniture and exterior timber. UltraDeck delivers an exceptionally durable, long lasting finish that enhances the characteristics of the timber grain and weathers naturally, without risk of cracking, blistering and peeling.

Ultragrip
A slip resistant additive that has been formulated for use in Ultradeck  to provide a high performance, long lasting, textured finish which reduces the tendency for decking and timber walkways to become slippery when wet.

This is important in the context of Universal Design.

I spent part of last week trying to find a contact within the Orica group to whom I can make our pitch to become one of our partners. Late on Friday I had the name, so I have emailed the gentleman over this weekend to present our case.
